BACKSTORY
Donkeyhead is a Canadian feature film produced by Karma Films, executive produced by acclaimed filmmaker Deepa Mehta and co-produced by ABP Studios, India. The film was streamed on Netflix USA and Amazon Prime Canada. The promoters wanted to bring Indian distributors on board.

The trailer was presented to major movie distribution agencies in India who stream international cinema.
Concept
The film’s inherent contextual relevance to Indian audiences contrasted sharply with the North American-style international trailer, which risked misinterpretation due to distinct emotional and philosophical sensibilities. Therefore, the strategy was to re-present the narrative and emotional core of the film with greater cultural nuance and depth to resonate effectively with local sentiment.
